Cleburne ISD has named Amber White the new principal of Lowell Smith Middle School following approval by the Board of Trustees Monday night.
White, who has been the assistant principal at Joshua’s R.C. Loflin Middle School since 2012, fills the administrative vacancy at Smith following the appointment of Principal Bill Allen to the position of CISD Curriculum Coordinator for social studies, PE and health. Allen’s appointment was approved at a special called school board meeting on May 30.
White began her teaching career in Cleburne in 2007, serving as a computer lab teacher at Santa Fe Elementary, followed by four years at Cleburne High School in the positions of speech/communication applications teacher, cheerleading coach, and assistant testing coordinator.
She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in communication studies from Texas Christian University in 2007. In 2011, White was awarded a Master of Education degree in educational leadership from Lamar University.
White’s husband, Wayland, is a PE/Outdoor Education teacher and assistant golf coach at Cleburne High School.
